Tim Yancey

Tim Yancey is a national lecturer, author and former radio talk show host on the subject of paranormal phenomenon.  He is an associate member and supporter of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP).  He is also the webmaster of The Official Amityville Horror Website.

In 1968 his family became the victims of a violent haunting, which finally culminated with the death of his mother in 2009. He regularly investigates and provides counseling to families and individuals who are experiencing violent paranormal phenomena in their lives.  Choosing to steer clear of traditional “ghost hunting” techniques, he helps to bring families back to a place of balance and center by sharing practical and realistic empowerment techniques that bring resolution to violent phenomena.

In 1994 he began a radio talk show entitled “Portraits Of The Paranormal”, one of the pioneering audio programs of the internet, and became an instant hit with paranormal enthusiasts around the world. The show eventually evolved into terrestrial radio when it was added to the International Broadcasting Corporation’s lineup of programming. During it’s run with IBC Radio, the program was being broadcasting to affiliates around the globe on AM/FM stations, shortwave and satellite.

In 2006, Tim Yancey signed a contract with Florida radio station WBZT and Clear Channel Communications, becoming the host of “The Encounters Paranormal Radio Series”. The show reached the height of it’s popularity, with an estimated average audience of between 40,000 – 50,000 listeners each week. It was also broadcast on other affiliates around the world through the use of live streaming video, and was voted “The Best In America” as one of the top five talk shows in the genre.

In 2009, Tim ended his contract with Clear Channel and WBZT and created “Encounters Live” , an innovative live video telecast which allowed fans and listeners of the program to watch and interact with the hosts inside the studio as they produced the show. “Encounters Live” abruptly ended however in 2011 when Tim suddenly announced his ‘retirement’ from the paranormal community.

Tim has appeared in several films and documentaries on the subject of violent hauntings, including the documentary film “The Haunted Boy”, produced by Spooked TV for the ScyFy Channel.  He also appeared with his brother Tom in the Warner Brothers DVD season five series of “Supernatural”.    Tim continues to work in the film industry by producing a series of films on personal growth and empowerment.

Currently, Tim is passionately engaged in writing a book which details the events that occurred to his family.  Entitled “The Booger Man”, the book chronicles his family’s tragic struggle with a violent haunting which began in 1968.  He is also working on a series of films to help others find empowerment, and attain resolution from negative energy which can sometimes overwhelm peoples lives.  He continues to provide counseling and guidance to victims of violent phenomena, and makes occasional rare appearances as a speaker at conferences around the country.
